How to share a project
Fresh Overview
Sharing a project in Recraft allows you to give other users access to your work. This is useful for team collaboration, reviewing work-in-progress, or handing off assets to a client or colleague.
How to Share a Project
- From the Projects view, hover over the project you want to share
- Click the ⋯ (three-dot menu) in the top-right corner of the project card
- Select Share project from the dropdown menu
- In the sharing dialog, enter the email address of the person you want to invite
- Set their permission level using the dropdown next to the email field (default is Viewer)
- Click Invite to send the invitation
To share via link, click Copy link at the bottom of the dialog and send it directly. You can control what link recipients can do using the Anyone with the link permission dropdown.
Permissions & Access
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Browse and view all assets in the project |
| Commenter | View assets and leave comments |
Link sharing can be set to:
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| No access | The link does not grant access - only invited users can open the project |
| Viewer | Anyone with the link can view the project |
| Commenter | Anyone with the link can view and comment |
Limitations:
- There is no Editor role for shared users — only the project owner can generate or edit assets
- Shared users can only access the specific project they were invited to, not the full workspace
- Sharing permissions can be updated or revoked at any time by the project owner
Best Practices
Use sharing when:
- Collecting feedback or review from a client or stakeholder
- Giving a teammate visibility into an active project
- Sharing a read-only link for quick review without requiring sign-up
Tips for smooth collaboration:
- Use No access for the link setting by default, and invite specific people by email for more controlled access
- Switch to Commenter link access when you need quick feedback from multiple reviewers without managing individual invites
- Name your projects clearly before sharing - the project name appears in the sharing dialog and in the recipient’s view
